Guy-Raymond was delighted to welcome our Sales Agents from Belgium, Czech Republic, Finland, France, Ireland, Portugal, Spain, and Türkiye, to King’s Lynn in June 2024 for an export sales conference arranged by the export team. The last time we hosted such a visit was in 2018, prior to Covid restrictions, so we were very keen to get together and share ideas for the future.
The conference started with a welcome introduction from Managing Director, Kelvin Daniels, in which he brought guests up-to-date with investments since their last visit, including our more energy efficient New Cucchi Bar Loaders and Swarf Centrifugal System Upgrade.
Design, Research & Development Manager, Alex Daniels, shared the latest on new product developments. We also set the delegates a quiz and the challenge of assembling a castor, which proved to be quite competitive!
Lawrence Daniels, Operations Manager, gave an overview of factory developments, which include a new robotic cell for moulding soft tyres; 16 new moulding machines, with plans to replace the remaining eight in the future; the refurbishments of our canteen and sales office; as well as recycling and efficiency initiatives being implemented to reduce our costs and carbon impact.
Export Manager, Sarah Bown, then led a general sales and marketing discussion with many ideas being shared. After lunch, everyone was taken on a tour of the factory to view the above upgrades in action and to meet with other members of the Guy-Raymond Team.
An evening meal, in a local English pub, provided the opportunity for all to relax after what was a very productive day with lots of useful discussions. The next morning, guests enjoyed a visit to Cambridge for a traditional punting experience on the River Cam – the infamous English weather was thankfully very kind to us!
