Guy-Raymond have worked closely with BioCote® for many years now to enhance our product offering to our customers. We recently welcomed some of the BioCote® team to our factory in King’s Lynn which gave us the opportunity to catch up on recent developments and resulted in this latest video which gives an insight into what we do and how BioCote® works for us in our range of antimicrobial castors. We hope you find it of interest.
BioCote® technology is incorporated into our antimicrobial castor tyres and brake pedal at the point of manufacture which ensures they are permanently protected against microbes for the expected lifetime of the product. The antimicrobial additive will not wear off or wash away.
Our products are routinely tested for antibacterial activity to ensure they continue to achieve the BioCote® minimum antibacterial performance requirement of 95% “Reduction against the initial for E. coli and MRSA” according to ISO 22196: 2011 analysis.
Available in our GRX family of castors (offered in wheel diameters of 50mm, 65mm, 75mm, 100mm and 125mm and with a wide range of fixing options) our antimicrobial option is especially suited for use in hospitals, care homes, veterinary surgeries, GP surgeries and other environments where surface protection from microbes is important.
BioCote® technology:
- Inhibits the growth of microbes such as odour causing and staining bacteria, moulds and fungi, disrupting the normal cell function of microbes and stopping them from reproducing;
- Starts to have an effect after just 15 minutes;
- Reduces the level of microbes on the treated surface by up to 99% in two hours.
